How It Works
Online School Options in Missouri
Parent Choice
Parent Choice: Under the MOCAP virtual education law, parents of an eligible student can choose which virtual program their child attends. Your current school or district can’t limit you to their district virtual program or to a preferred program by a select vendor. In fact, due to a change in state law taking effect August 28, 2022, local school districts no longer play the role of approving or disapproving of Missouri Digital Academy (MODA) enrollment. Instead, parents may apply directly to MODA for enrollment, and MODA makes the final decision on enrollment. MODA is an approved MOCAP program and is accepting new enrollments.
Enrollment Process
A parent or legal guardian completes and submits an enrollment application online and MODA follows up with the resident district to see if the district has any input into the enrollment or wishes to collaborate in good faith. Ultimately, MODA makes the final decision on enrollment.
